Brew as you normally would using your preferred method. Place the CoffeeSock in your brewer, add coffee grounds, and pour hot water as usual. No paper filter needed.
Cloth filters allow more natural oils to pass through, resulting in a fuller-bodied cup.
-
Once brewing is complete, remove the CoffeeSock and dump the used grounds. Compost when possible.
Avoid letting grounds sit in the filter for extended periods.
-
Rinse the filter thoroughly with hot water until the water runs clear. Do not use soap or detergent, as residue can affect flavor.
-
Hang the CoffeeSock or place it somewhere with good airflow. Allow it to dry fully between brews to prevent odor or buildup.
-
For deeper cleaning:
Boil the filter in plain water for 5–10 minutes, or
Soak in hot water with baking soda
Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely.
-
With proper care, CoffeeSock filters typically last several months to over a year depending on frequency of use and brew method.
When the fabric thins or flavor is impacted, it’s time to replace.
-
Soap or detergent
Storing while damp
Sealing in airtight containers
These can cause off-flavors or odors.
-
CoffeeSock filters are made from natural fibers and are fully compostable at the end of their life.
